Achillea coat, green-brown barleycorn – Harris Tweed® wool

Achillea is a double-breasted coat cut at the waist with a cloche bottom. At the top, it has vertical cuts highlighted with seams and wide lapels. It has a yoke and vertical cuts at the back. The sleeve is two-piece, finished with a fly with 4 decorative buttons. It has two side loops and is tied with a belt at the waist. The coat has a lining made of a mixture of viscose and acetate. Acetate is a cellulose fiber used mainly as a component of linings – it is air-permeable (does not cause sweating – like synthetic polyester), absorbs moisture and is durable – it behaves perfectly in washing, does not shrink, even at higher temperatures (which makes it better than viscose).

The coat is made of the famous Harris Tweed® sheep wool , which has been hand-made for centuries by the inhabitants of the Scottish islands of the Outer Hebrides ; there it is also dyed using local plants and lichens.

Harris Tweed is a flexible material woven from thick, rough, slightly carded wool yarn, the weave of which has a tight and twill structure. It is very warm, durable and suitable for unfavorable weather conditions. It is the only material in the world protected by Act of Parliament . It is also guarded by the Harris Tweed Authority – an organization that guards the authenticity of Harris Tweed production, preventing the circulation of fakes. The ORB mark (logo with a ball) confirms that the Harris Tweed product is 100% original and its production takes place as tradition dictates – often in private homes.
